The Central Bank of Sri Lanka reports that tea production in February fell to 15.6 million kilograms.
This decrease is attributed to prevailing dry weather conditions across tea-growing regions.
This figure represents a significant drop compared to the 19.99 million kilograms produced in February 2024.
Rubber production also saw a decrease, reaching 5.03 million kilograms in February 2025.
This is a notable decline when compared to the 7.11 million kilograms recorded in February of the previous year.
Similarly, coconut production declined to 178.01 million nuts in February 2025.
In contrast, the Central Bank stated that the country's coconut production for the same period last year stood at 260.5 million nuts.
