JOHNSTON FERNANDO APPOINTED HEAD OF SLPP OPERATIONS

JOHNSTON+FERNANDO+APPOINTED+HEAD+OF+SLPP+OPERATIONS+

Former Minister Johnston Fernando has been appointed as the new head of operations for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).


The SLPP General Secretary, Sagara Kariyawasam, confirmed that this appointment was made during a meeting of the party held yesterday (9).


In addition, a committee chaired by former Minister Gamini Lokuge has been established to formulate the necessary criteria for the nomination of members to local government institutions.


Furthermore, the SLPP has formed a separate committee to make decisions regarding providing support for the establishment of power in local government institutions in the future. 


This committee consists of General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam, Head of Operations Johnston Fernando, and Member of Parliament D.V. Chanaka.
