Hiru TV continues to etch its name in gold, with significant recognition at the 30th Sumathi Awards 2025 last night (15).

The channel secured numerous prestigious accolades at the ceremony.

'Wippayoga' was named the Best Telefilm of the Year, while 'Hiru News' took home the award for Best News Broadcast of the Year.

The channel's political programme, 'Balaya', was recognised as the Best Political Programme of the Year.

Further affirming its popularity, Hiru TV's 'Paata Kurullo' was voted the Most Popular Teledrama of the Year, and 'Hiru Star' won the Most Popular Television Programme of the Year.

'Art Cafe' secured the award for Best Magazine Programme of the Year.

Hiru TV also received the award for Best Television 3D/Digital Animation of the Year.

In individual honours, Ruwanika Kumaradasa of Hiru TV was awarded Best Television News Presenter (Female) of the Year, while the presenter of 'Hiru Star', Saranga Disasekara, was named Best Television Presenter of the Year.
