Wonal Abhilasha from Galle has been crowned the winner of the inaugural 'Hiru Kids Star' - Season 1 Grand Finale, a competition aimed at nurturing young singing talent in Sri Lanka.

Senuka Rehan from Polonnaruwa was named the runner-up.

The grand finale took place last night (17) at the Hiru Life Studio premises.

Hiru TV, a leading name in Sri Lanka's television landscape, has long been a pioneer in local reality television, offering high-quality entertainment to audiences.

The Hiru Kids Star competition, a unique concept by Hiru Media Network Chairman Rayynor Silva, was created to provide a platform for talented children across the island.

The show's core objective is to ensure that the country's young, gifted artists do not fade away but instead have their skills showcased and developed for the future.

The competition saw thousands of applications from talented children nationwide.

Over nearly seven months, 48 contestants were selected and mentored by a panel of veteran judges.

They competed with the support of a public vote to reach the grand finale.

In the final round, Wonal Abhilasha and Senuka Rehan faced off after winning their respective rounds, which also featured Sithuli Gihansa from Minuwangoda and Sadasi Akash from Udugampola.

The grand finale was a star-studded event, with performances by veteran artists from Sri Lanka's art and entertainment industry, as well as past champions from the Hiru Star reality show.
