The United National Party (UNP) is celebrating its 79th anniversary today under the leadership of party leader and former president Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The anniversary convention, under the theme, “Let's Stand Together”, has extended invitations to all opposition parties, including the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
The UNP, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest political parties, says the event is intended to reaffirm its role in safeguarding democracy and encouraging cooperation across the political spectrum.
