TEACHERS+CALL+FOR+HIGHER+HARDSHIP+ALLOWANCE

Sri Lanka’s teachers’ union has called on the government to raise the hardship allowance for educators by more than Rs. 15,000 in the upcoming budget.


Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU), made the demand while addressing the union’s Kandy District conference yesterday.


Union chairman Priyantha Fernando was also present at the meeting.
