Beruwala Police report that a buried stash of 1 kg and 885 g of Hashish was recovered from the premises of a relative of one of the fishermen who initially discovered the stash while being on a multi-day fishing trawler returning to Beruwala.
Officers from the Aluṯhgama Special Task Force (STF) conducted the raid, seized the drug haul, and arrested three suspects, who were subsequently handed over to the Beruwala Police.
The three arrested fishermen are residents of the Ganearamba area within the Beruwala police division.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Kal̇uṯhara Magistrate's Court today (24).
