The Court of Appeal postponed the delivery of its order regarding a writ application filed by Balangoda Kassapa Thera and Trincomalee Kalyanawansa Tissa Thera until February 3.

The petition seeks to invalidate an order remanding the two monks in connection with an incident involving a Buddha statue in Trincomalee.

A judicial bench comprising Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Priyantha Fernando was scheduled to announce the decision today (30).

However, the President of the Court of Appeal announced that the ruling is not yet finalised for delivery.

The judge further noted that if the order is completed earlier, it may be announced this coming Monday (02), in which case the relevant parties will be notified in advance.
