Most problems related to the QR code system for fuel distribution are now settled, according to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara.

Despite this, people in several areas continue to face severe difficulties due to technical errors encountered when using the QR system to obtain fuel.

Long queues remained visible near filling stations in Colombo and other parts of the island yesterday (17).

Hiru correspondents reported that some fuel stations remain closed because they did not receive the stocks they ordered.

The fuel quota provided via the QR code expires at midnight every Saturday and resets on Sunday, according to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman D.J. Rajakaruna.
