A power failure lasted for several hours in the Kantale area after a jeep crashed into a utility pole and the wall of the Ceylon Electricity Board office.

Kantale Police stated that the incident occurred today (27) around 4:00 AM.

Preliminary investigations suggest the driver fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

While no injuries were reported from the scene, the Ceylon Electricity Board estimated the damage at over Rs. 200,000.
