African countries such as Rwanda, which have moved away from diesel power to local resources like methane extraction, are benefitting from lower prices during the energy shock, according to one power provider.

Shruti Aggarwal, Executive Director of Shema Power Lake Kivu, a methane gas project which now supplies a quarter of Rwanda's electricity, told the BBC that Rwanda was now reaping the rewards of what she called a 'cleaner energy transition'. Shruti Aggarwal was talking to Zeinab Badawi at the recent African CEO Forum in Kigali.
