The Western Province Civil Appellate High Court ordered the appeal filed by Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara regarding the General Secretary position of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to be called on September 18. This directive followed a review of arguments presented by legal counsel for both parties during today's session.

In his appeal, Dayasiri Jayasekara contends that the Colombo District Court declined to issue an interim injunction allowing him to serve as the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, ruling that the request linked directly to the final judgment of the case. Dayasiri Jayasekara filed this appeal to challenge the District Court decision.

The appeal requests that the court grant permission for him to continue his duties as the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and issue an order to the respondents, including Chairman Nimal Siripala de Silva, to refrain from interfering with his role.
