An agreement reached with the National Transport Commission will see the minimum bus fare rise to Rs. 34 starting July 6, according to Gemunu Wijeratne, Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association.

Fares for distances up to 100 kilometres will increase by 12%, while trips exceeding that distance will see a 20% rise.

These adjustments apply to both standard and luxury bus services.

Furthermore, the association chair confirmed that semi-luxury and super-luxury services will no longer be available in the future.
