A meeting took place today (01) between Vice Admiral Damien Fernando and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Sampath Thuyacontha at the Ministry of Defence.

Vice Admiral Damien Fernando recently assumed duties as the 27th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, making this his first official visit to the Defence Secretary.

Congratulations on the new appointment were extended by the Defence Secretary while welcoming the newly appointed Navy Chief.

Confidence was expressed by the Defence Secretary regarding the new Commander's ability to lead the Navy with high professionalism, dedication, and strategic vision, ensuring the continuation of the operational excellence and rich traditions of the Sri Lanka Navy.
