Taiwanese authorities advised the public to remain prepared as Cyclone Bavi, carrying wind speeds of around 200 kilometres per hour, could impact the country.

Foreign media reported that this could be the strongest cyclone to hit the Asia-Pacific region since 2024.

Due to climate change, China, Japan, and Taiwan face an increased tendency for such destructive weather conditions.

Accordingly, Taiwanese authorities informed the public to keep emergency disaster bags prepared with necessary food, torches, and other essentials.
