The Public Health Inspectors’ Association of Sri Lanka requests the public to immediately inform the nearest Public Health Inspector's office if dengue is contracted.

Its Colombo District Secretary, Gayan Prasanga, stated that certain individuals get blood tested from private laboratories and conceal that they have contracted the disease.

A total of 1079 patients were reported during the past day and the authorities claim a decrease in the spread of the disease not been observed yet.

Accordingly, 67,143 dengue patients were reported during this period of the year so far, the National Dengue Control Unit mentioned.

Meanwhile, the number of dengue fatalities reported as of now is 47.

Several special mosquito control programmes are functioning across the country to suppress the spread of dengue under such a background.

Meanwhile, a dengue control programme was held on Sinhapura Mawatha in the Battaramulla Pelawatta area by the Battaramulla Medical Officer of Health office.

Meanwhile, fines worth 2.1 million rupees were imposed by the Gangodawila Magistrate's Court during the hearing of cases filed by the Maharagama Medical Officer of Health office for dengue breeding places.

This is considered the highest fine imposed for dengue breeding places within a single day.
