Jordan’s air defences “intercepted and shot down three missiles this morning, while the fourth missile landed in a remote, uninhabited area,” the armed forces said in a statement. There were no deaths or injuries, it added.
The fresh strikes follow six missiles Iran fired on Jordan on Wednesday. Satellite imagery captured by the European Space Agency appears to show smoke rising from a building on the King Faisal Air Base in Jordan.
In Bahrain, citizens were urged today to “remain calm and head to the nearest safe place” as siren sounded across the country.
