News circulating on social media claiming that the young woman standing near Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya when she arrived at Katunayake Airport to depart for Qatar was her 'personal chef' was completely false, a fact-check conducted by Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka confirmed.

This false information was circulated on social media using a photograph taken when the Prime Minister was departing on a diplomatic level to express condolences over the passing of the former ruler of Qatar.

However, according to the investigation conducted by Fact Crescendo, the photograph depicts Sub-Inspector U.U.M.H.A. Wijebandara of the special VIP security division of the Prime Minister's Security Division (PMSD).

Accordingly, Fact Crescendo further confirmed that the young woman near Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya was not a personal chef but a police officer attached to the Prime Minister's Security Division, and that the news circulating on social media was completely false.
