Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara Districts today (07) and the sky will remain cloudy in those areas, the Department of Meteorology forecasts.
Fairly heavy rains of about 75 mm could occur at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara Districts.
Strong winds of about 40 to 50 kilometres per hour could blow at times in the North-Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, and North-Western Provinces.
The department requested the public to take necessary measures to minimise accidents from temporary strong winds and lightning that could occur with thundershowers.
