The Police Media Division mentioned that this raid was carried out yesterday (08) based on confidential information received by the officers of the Western Province South District Crimes Division.
A 53-year-old resident of the Pitakotte area has been arrested during the raid, and police investigations revealed that he is the owner of the communication centre.
During the raid, seven counterfeit 5,000 rupee notes, six 1,000 rupee notes, and a 500 rupee note in the possession of the suspect were taken into police custody. In addition, a computer machine, a scanner machine, a printer machine, a flash drive, a paper cutter, and a ruler used for printing counterfeit money were also arrested by police.
The arrested suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court today (09). Further investigations are conducted by the Western Province South District Crimes Division.
