The question papers of the 2026 General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) examination currently being held did not leak in any manner, and tomorrow's (14) examination will be held as planned as usual, Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari states.

During the inspection of question paper containers relevant to the Business Studies, Music, Dance, and Agricultural Science subjects which were scheduled to be held today (13).
An incident was reported at the coordinating centre bearing number 323 located at Ambalantota Maha Vidyalaya in the Hambantota District, where six packets of the 'Physics I' question paper scheduled to be held tomorrow (14) were found placed differently in question paper containers that arrived to be distributed to six centres.

However, since this stock of question papers was found during the initial stage of distribution to examination halls, it had no chance to be leaked, the Commissioner General of Examinations confirmed.

Therefore, the Department of Examinations further mentioned that all examination candidates should face the examination tomorrow without fear or doubt, without being deceived by false rumours circulating stating that question papers are leaked, whilst the Commissioner General of Examinations mentioned that investigations into the incident are underway.
