A decision was taken to recall Dasun Shanaka for the One-Day International (ODI) matches of the Sri Lanka cricket team's upcoming tour of England.
Dasun Shanaka last played an ODI in January 2024 during a series against Zimbabwe in Colombo.
Subsequently, he was recalled to the Sri Lanka team only for Twenty20 matches.
Pathum Nissanka and captain Kusal Mendis, who withdrew from the Test cricket series against India due to injuries, will also join the tour of England, cricket sources stated.
The Sri Lanka cricket team is scheduled to depart for England next month for a tour comprising three Twenty20 and three ODI matches.
