Four individuals sustained injuries today (31) at noon following a collision between a van and a lorry on the Mawanella Brick Bridge, police said.
The injured parties were admitted to the Mawanella Base Hospital, according to police.
The collision occurred when a small van travelling from Aranayake towards Mawanella town and a sand-loaded tipper lorry travelling from Mawanella town towards Ussapitiya crashed head-on on the brick bridge.
The condition of one of the injured individuals is critical, a hospital spokesperson stated.
Mawanella Police are conducting further investigations.
