Vehicle importers are making an urgent appeal to authorities to facilitate the immediate release of nearly 1,000 vehicles currently trapped at Sri Lankan ports due to an ongoing cross-border Letters of Credit crisis. Representatives point out that the prolonged delay in clearing these shipments has caused severe operational difficulties and mounting financial losses.
Importers remain hopeful that relevant officials will intervene promptly to resolve the underlying legal and technical obstacles, allowing the trapped cargo to be cleared without further delay.
