Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam states that the evidence presented regarding the arrest of Namal Rajapaksa is unreliable. He made these remarks to the media this afternoon after calling on the Most Venerable Mahanayake Theras of the Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters.

Kariyawasam alleged that the current administration is using anti-corruption laws to target and suppress political opponents. He further expressed that no trust could be placed in the evidence being submitted in connection with the ongoing legal proceedings against Namal Rajapaksa.

Former Ministers Ramesh Pathirana and Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, alongside former Member of Parliament Mahinda Abeykoon, were among those present on the occasion.
