Despite the rain stopping and covers coming off, the 4th one-day international between Australia and Sri Lanka was abandoned because of a wet outfield much to the disappointment of the large crowd at Sydney Cricket ground today.

Sri Lanka were 14 without loss in 3.2 overs with Tillakaratne Dilshan hitting Clint McKay through the covers in the only boundary of the innings before rain stalled their run chase of 223.

A brilliant unbeaten half century by Mitchell Starc lifted Australia to 222 for 9 in their 50 overs after batting first in the 4th one-day international against Sri Lanka at the SCG.

The Sri Lankans now head to Hobart for the final match of the series leading 2-1.
