Eastern Provincial leaders of the SLMC requests for a Party leadership meeting.

The Eastern Provincial leaders of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress have requested the party leadership to convene the central working committee of the SLMC.


A senior leader of the SLMC stated that this request was made via a special letter addressed to the party leadership requesting a discussion regarding the amendment of electricity tariffs, living costs and issues pertaining to the Muslim populace.


The Eastern provincial leaders are hoping to engage in discussions regarding the political journey of the SLMC in the face of the current issues.


Upon inquiry by our news team, the deputy general secretary of the SLMC Nissam Kariyappar stated that there are many issues due to the current economic situation and that the SLMC hopes to engage in discussions with the government regarding this.
