Three teams from the National Building Research institute have arrived at Dik Aarawa in the Ella Divisional Secretariat division to inspect the risk of a sinkhole.

Meanwhile, 150 families were evacuating from their residential area due to the sinkhole risk that appeared after heavy rain in the area yesterday.

In addition, a group of residents affected by the Uma Oya Project staged a protest by blocking Bandarawela Badulla road at Dik Aarawa and Bindunuwewa Peella junction.

The protestors said that they have not received a remedy to their grievances as yet.

The protestors dispersed later after the Ella Divisional Secretary and police promised them to settle the matter.
