The Foreign Ministry has called for a report on the alleged suicide by a Sri Lankan family in an apartment complex in Sharjah.

The report has been called from the Sri Lankan Consular Office, located in Dubai.

Gulf News reported recently that a 55-year-old man, his 54-year-old wife and their 19-year-old son of a Sri Lankan expatriate family had committed suicide.

The newspaper also reported that the father had leaped off the building and there were cut injuries on the bodies of the two other victims.

It also stated that two other women believed to be relatives of the family have been hospitalized with cut injuries after the incident.

However, a Foreign Ministry senior official told our news team that the truth behind the incident will be revealed to local media after the investigation report is received.
