Fishermen warned to refrain from going out to sea until early tomorrow morning

The Department of Fisheries released a warning to the fishing community to refrain from going out to sea from off the coast of Matara through to Pottuvil and from  Puttalam to Negombo until 6 am tomorrow,  due to the turbulence in the lower atmosphere of the island.

At the same time, deputy director of the disaster management centre, Pradeep Kodippili said that steps will be taken to pay an allowance of 10 thousand rupees to each family affected by the inclement weather.
