National Freedom Front (NFF) Spokesman Mohammed Muzammil's wife, Nadika Harshini was summoned to the Police Financial Crimes investigations Division (FCID), today.

Police sources told Hiru News that Harshini was summoned to record a statement with regard to the inquiry into her husband.

Muzammil was recently arrested by the Police for allegedly misusing vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat.

Police had received information that the NFF politician had used his wife's bank accounts to commit the alleged fraud.

Earlier, MP Mr. Muzammil was arrested for allegedly misappropriating Rs. 6.2 million of public funds from the State Engineering Corporation (SEC) while functioning as a Working Director of the SEC in 2011, was ordered to be remanded till July 4 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne on 20th June.

He had been charged under the Public Property Act, Prevention of Money Laundering Act and Penal Code.
