The court of Appeal has rejected the bail application filed by Perpetual Treasuries owner, Arjun Aloysius and his CEO Kasun Palisena.

Aloysius and Palisena are in remand in connection with the Central Bank bond scam.

Their bail application was taken before the chairman of the Court of Appeal, Justice Prithi Padman Surasena and Justice Shiran Gunarathna this morning.

Bail for the duo was rejected as they failed to make sufficient legal submissions to challenge the rulings issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate and the Colombo High Court.

Both courts rejected bail for Aloysius and Kasun on previous occasions.

Meanwhile, the case against the duo is scheduled to be heard by the Colombo Fort Magistrate this afternoon.

In addition, the Attorney General filed Action against a notorious elephant racketeer, Niraj Roshan, alias Ali Roshan and 6 other suspects.

The case will be heard by the special Trial-at-bar under 24 indictments including illegally keeping 4 elephants in captivity.

Among the respondents are an officer and the subject clerk attached to the wildlife conservation department.
