At least 17 army personnel were killed and 19 others injured at a fire in a military ammunition depot in Pulgaon in Maharashtra.

"17 people have died. 19 are injured but are out of danger," Smita Patil, superintendent of Wardha district police has said." An operation is in progress and the fire has been brought under control.”

Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted that Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will visit the depot today.
