The National Blood Transfusion Service has commenced an investigation into the incident where a man died after being given the wrong blood type during blood transfusion.
The person was admitted to Horana Base Hospital following an accident on the 7th.
The relatives of the victim complained that the hospital has given him AB positive blood, even though he was in need of B positive blood.
