Investigations revealed that the fatal shootingthat took place in Hikkaduwa and Tangalle yesterday was instigated by a personal dispute.
Two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle fatally shot the victim who was walking in the vicinity of the post office on Hikkaduwa-Baddegama Road at around 2.50 last afternoon.
The suspects fled the scene of the crime.
The victim was a 34-year-old resident of Telwatta in Hikkaduwa identified as Lalith Chryshanta alias Podi Kalu Mahattaya.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a businessman was shot to death close to a garment factory in Waeliaara Tangalle, at around 11.15 am.
Two unidentified persons approached the victim on a motorcycle, wearing full face helmets and fatally shot the victim.
The 42 year old victim was the owner of a vehicle service centre at Waeliaara.
