Ala Ranjee, A relative of keselwatte dinuka , has been arrested by the STF in Keselwatta.
Both Keselwatte Dinuka a member of an organised crime group, and the gang leader, Makandure Madush are currently being held in remand in Dubai.
Police Media spokesman, SP Ruwan Gunesekera said that the 57 year old suspect had a stock of heroin and two machetes in his possession at the time of arrest.
Meanwhile, Police suspect that the 7 billion rupee diamond that was stolen from a house in Pannipitiya had been handed over to Makandure Madush.
An officer attached to the Mirihana Special Crime Investigation Unit stated that the investigations revealed that the robbery was masterminded by Makandure Madush from Dubai.
A group of robbers who disguised themselves as poilice officers broke into the property in Pannipitiya on November 5th last year.
Ravindra Nalaka Ranasinghe aka Loku Ayya,Thusitha Madura aka Matara Malli and Kasun Dhananjaya aka Wedikande Kasun are in remand custody are suspects in the case.
