RAINS+TO+THE+SOUTHWESTERN+AREAS+WILL+INCREASE+IN+THE+COMING+DAYS
The Department of Meteorology stated that and increase in showers are expected in the next few days.

The Department issuing a statement said that the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts could experience heavy rain fall of around 100 millimeters.

The wind speeds in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Kalmunai via Pottuvil and from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankesanthurai could increase up to 65 km per hour.

Therefore, the Department of Meteorology has advised the fishermen and the naval community to be vigilant as strong winds could develop to around 70-80 kmph in those sea areas during thundershowers.
