Sri Lanka Automobile Association in Japan (SLAAJ) stated that their members are facing severe difficulties following the Sri Lankan Government's decision to halt the import of vehicles in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

SLAAJ Chairperson Nishantha Meegalla, addressing the media yesterday (03) stated that the vehicles that were prepared to be imported by SLAAJ members are now parked in ports in those countries.

He pointed out that the members are facing severe difficulties due to this.

He requested the Government to allow the import of the vehicles that were ordered prior to March.
