At the Sri Lanka Freedom Party May Day celebrations which were held today (30), a proposal was put forth to increase the salary of public servants by Rs 5,000.
This was proposed by General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Employees Union, Leslie Devendra.
The theme of the May Day celebrations was 'Nidhasata Ekwemu, Wedabima Jayagamu'.
The May Day celebrations were held today at the SLFP Headquarters under the patronage of Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party former President Maithripala Sirisena.
