The Ministry of Health has taken steps to publish the relevant call for nominations for the election of new members to the Sri Lanka Nursing Council for the next 5 years on 25.02.2021 and Gazette No. 2217.

Accordingly, nominations were submitted for categories 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4, 9.5, 9.6 and 9.7, out of which members were elected unopposed for categories 9.2, 9.3, 9.4.

The election of members of the Nursing Council from among the other categories 9.1, 9.5, 9.6 and 9.7 will be held on 11 December from 07.00 am until 04:00 p.m. Arrangements have been made to hold polls at 32 polling stations islandwide.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Health states that the relevant instructions have been issued by the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2256/33 dated 01.12.2021 regarding the holding of the election.

It is reported that the Ministry of Health has also provided the facility to download the gazette notification from the website www.documents.gov.lk.
