An incident was reported from Katugastota area of Kandy where the parents of a school girl had kidnapped her boyfriend while they were walking on the road.

The police stated that the girl's mother, father and a friend of the father came and abducted the boyfriend while they were walking along a deserted road after tuition classes.

He boy was also assaulted, and according to a complaint made to the Katugastota police, the three were later arrested.

The police had received complaints that he was taken to a house in Katugastota area and had been assaulted.

However, the police stated that after assaulting and intimidating the boy they took him back to the boys home in Nittawala area.

The girl's mother, father and father's friend, who were arrested in connection with the incident, were produced before the Kandy Magistrate's Court and later released on bail.
