A complaint has been lodged with the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission in Jaffna District, alleging negligence on the part of the Poonarin Police in handling a case involving the abduction of a minor girl. The incident pertains to a 15-year-old girl from the Poonarin Paramankarai area in Kilinochchi.

According to the girl's parents, she was abducted by a 27-year-old man on the 22nd of September. Despite providing information about the suspect to the Poonarin Police, no action has been taken to apprehend him, as per the complaint. This complaint highlights concerns about law enforcement's response to cases of child abduction and the need for timely and effective action to protect minors and ensure their safety.
