The Lanka Teachers Association had convened a press conference to inform the media regarding the short comings of the program initiated by the Ministry of Education to develop secondary schools.

Speaking at the press conference, secretary of the Lanka Teachers Association Joseph Stalin stated that due to this program 2000 of the 9662 schools of this country is facing the risk of closing down.

However, Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena made the following statement in response to the allegations made against the secondary school development program.
