Police arrested Wayamba province Fisheries, Agricultural and Irrigation Minister Sanath Nishantha today, after he surrendered to the Anamaduwa Police station.

He is accused of attacking and damaging the property of then Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena’s office at Garaa-yak-gama, Aanamaduwa in the wake of the presidential election, as well as for verbally abusing and threatening a person.

According to police media spokesman’s office, the arrested Provincial Minister Sanath Nishantha will be produced before Puttalam Court today.
