More incidents of post-election violence reported from the North and East
The PAFFEREL Organization says that most number of incidents during the post election period was reported from the North and East.
Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that there is no increase in violence in comparison to previous years.
Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that 21 suspects have been arrested in the post election period.
4 persons were admitted to Batticaloa Hospital with injuries after a clash which occurred between supporters of 2 main political parties at Kaattankudi area in Batticaloa yesterday.
The clash occurred between supporters of defeated A.L.M. Hisbullah who was entered in the national list of the UPFA, and a group of supporters of the Muslim Congress.
Meanwhile, a protest was staged in front of the Presidential Secretariat this morning, against entering the name of A.L.M. Hisbullah for a seat in the national list.
