Sri Lanka breaks her own records: World's new Largest blue sapphire found from Elahara

Sri Lanka’s previous record for producing world’s largest blue sapphire has been terminated by another blue sapphire found from Elahera area.

The new largest blue sapphire is owned by a businessman in Beruwala.

The new gem is reported to weight 2476.66 Karat which makes 486 grams.

The previous blue sapphire weight 281 grams accounting for 1404 Karat.

The owner of the record-breaking blue sapphire keeps his identity hidden but reveals that the new treasure is 300 million dollars’ worth.
