The World Health Organization stated that it has not recommended any country to impose a travel warning on Sri Lanka due to dengue.

In its communiqué, the World Health Organization stated that it has taken several measures to support Sri Lanka’s efforts to combat dengue.

Accordingly, the organization deployed three experts to the island , an epistemologist and two dengue management experts.

WHO also says in its communiqué that it has been observing the measures taken by authorities in sri lanka to combat the spread of the disease.

However specialists say that if the spread of Dengue is not contained it could have an impact on the tourism industry.

To date, xclose to 100,000 people have contracted dengue, with 290 reported deaths.
