Viral flu spreads to Hambantota

The viral flu spreading in the South is now affecting the public in the Hambantota district.
 
It is reported that cases of viral fever have increased by 50 percent over the last few days.
 
The Director of Hambantota District Health Services, Dr.  A. P. R. S. Chandrasena said that the majority of those patients are reportedly from Tangalle, Walasmulla and Tissamaharama.
 
The authorities have closed the preschools in the area until 4th of June to contain the spread of the disease.
 
Meanwhile, the primary sections of the schools in Udugama, Morawaka, Galle, Matara, Mulatiyana, Akuressa, Tangalle and Walsamulla educational zones were also closed for 2 days.
 
Those schools will remain closed on Monday as well.
 
So far 14 persons have died of this viral flu and 400 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals in the South.
