The Commander of Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva urged his troops to remain steadfastly loyal to the nation and be professionally competent.
The Army Chief said in a message issued to mark the 66th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army, the sole aspiration is to safeguard our motherland and its citizens at all times.
It requires unity of purpose and the ability to focus on issues which unite and a spirit of conciliation.
