Supreme Courts issued notices to 7 persons including United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Minister Kabir Hashim and Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya to appear before the courts after considering the petition filed by the Southern Provincial Council (PC) former member Attorney-At-Law Ajith Prassanna to nullify the appointment of Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka’s appointment to the parliament through the United National Party.
It is cited in the petition that it is illegal and improper to have given a parliament seat to Sarath Fonseka through the United National Party.
The petition will be recalled on the 24th of May.
